Khune sweeps all before him at PSL awards

Not only did Khune do enough to convince the PSL coaches and the media that he punched above his weight this season, the Bafana No1 goalkeeper also got his fellow players’ vote for the players’ player of the season award. He wrapped up his award haul by winning goalkeeper of the season and Nedbank player of the tournament.
Amakhosi’s "reclaim the glory" campaign ended with the side winning the league and Nedbank Cup double. It was no surprise, therefore, that one of their stars walked away with a total of R575,000 at Gold Reef City on Sunday night.
Khune has admitted it was a trying season for him, especially as the club’s captain after he took over from Jimmy Tau in November 2011. He also captained Bafana in a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic, which the South African national team won 2-0.
