Bok programme promotes reading culture in schools
GCOBANI Senior Primary is the first school in the province to benefit from a corporate social investment programme launched by the South African Rugby Union (Saru). Boks for Books was launched in KwaZulu-Natal in June and is aimed at equipping underprivileged schools with libraries.
Alexander said: “Sport and education are linked. Our national rugby players are ambassadors of this programme.
The programme involves rugby players visiting schools to encourage pupils to read. Springbok under-20 players Seabelo Senatla and Sithembiso Sithole attended yesterday’s event.
