Monster’s University 3D: Solid entertainment from Disney, drawing on the magical monsters created by Pixar in Monsters Inc. Spud 2: The Madness Continues: The second instalment continues in the same vein of the first coming-of-age movie with pranks, disciplinary actions, girl troubles and friendships pervading the story on John “Spud” Milton’s misadventures at boarding school. Brilliant play, cast and direction. To The Wonder: Terrence Malick’s latest film follows thematically on his epic Tree of Life as a meandering, if not exactly meaningful, meditation on love and life.
360: Francesco Meirelles gives us beautiful shots of random people who are actually connected but no-one gets enough screen time. A Haunted House: Marlon Wayans ditches the Scary Movie franchise for a parody of Paranormal Activity and other “found-footage” flicks.
After Earth: M Night Shyamalan directs Will Smith and his son, Jaden, in a wonky sci-fi movie where the Smiths return to post-apocalyptic earth. Bernie: Directed by Richard Linklater and boasting a strong performance from Jack Black, this true-crime character study is unexpectedly amusing.
Broken City: Clichéd, plot-hole ridden and badly paced.... Read the full, comprehensive news article and discuss at Daily News
