Chelsea failed in Drogba bid
Didier Drogba's advisor Ceylan Caliskan claims Chelsea failed with a bid to take the striker back to Stamford Bridge. The Ivorian left west London in the summer of 2012 after eight trophy-laden years in English football. Drogba opted to move on as a free agent and try his luck in China with Shanghai Shenhua, before returning to Europe with Turkish outfit Galatasaray in January.
He is now 35 years of age, but he remains a firm favourite of returning Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho. Caliskan said: "Mourinho called Drogba and told him he would like to see him back.
