Valencia planning bid for Torres
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres. London – Valencia are planning an audacious bid for Fernando Torres as they prepare to push through Roberto Soldado’s £26million move to Tottenham. Coach Miroslav Djukic had admitted he needed attacking reinforcements even before Soldado, 28, agreed to become a Spurs player.
Contact has been made with Chelsea, according to Valencia newspaper Superdeporte, and the La Liga side are now waiting to hear if Torres is available and how much he would cost. Such is their financial predicament, however, it is understood they are unable to go any higher than £25m for a player who cost Chelsea a British record £50m.
They may also try to work out a loan deal. Valencia have also made a late bid to sign former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou.
